Join us for a night of poetry!

Poets Eric Smith and Anna Lena Phillips Bell

will be reading from their most recent poetry collections.

Eric Smith is the author of Black Hole Factory, winner of the 2017 Tampa Review Prize for Poetry. He is a recipient of a North Carolina Arts Council fellowship, and he currently serves as the managing editor of the Sewanee Review.

Anna Lena Phillips Bell is the author of Ornament, winner of the Vassar Miller Poetry Prize. The recipient of a North Carolina Arts Council Fellowship in literature, she teaches at UNC Wilmington, where she is editor of Ecotone and Lookout Books. She lives with her family near the Cape Fear River, and calls Appalachian square dances in North Carolina and beyond.
After the reading, join the authors for a short & sweet sonnet-writing experiment! No experience required, and cheerers-on are welcome if you prefer not to write yourself. Wine and chocolate will be available to aid in the process.

 

Copies of each of their books will also be available.
