The Cape Fear River Watch Book Club will be hosting a discussion of Fire On The Horizon: The Untold Story of the Gulf Oil Disaster by John Konrad and Tom Schroder.

The Deepwater Horizon Oil spill, also referred to as the BP Oil spill, was an industrial disaster that began on April 20, 2010 in the Gulf of Mexico on the BP-operated Macondo Prospect, and is considered to be the largest marine oil spill in the history of the petroleum industry. This historical non-fiction book is a must-read, as the dangers of oil pipelines and off-shore drilling remain a constant threat to the quality of our waterways.
